So time for another fun sailing trip!
As this falls around the time of Bridgemas, why not take a weekend off to head out on Skylark and explore some of the sights of the UK east coast.
This is a trip suited to anyone! Never-been-on-a-boaters, beginners, taining people, crusty old sea dogs - suitable for all these!
The plan would depend on the weather, but could involve any one of the following:
- The river Deben
- The river Ore
- Walton Backwaters
- The Micronation of Sealand
- Wind farm
So some of these could look like this:
For sure you will see the River Orwell, which is nice in its own right, and of course the second biggest container port in Europe - Felixtowe!
But of course there will be sailing!
As with all of our trips it is a very good chance to get some sailing experience or some theory into action! I'm sure it will be fun, whatever the case. We already have a first mate lined up, Sylwia, but if you wanted a day of acting skipper (for yachtmaster qualification requirements) - let me know when you sign up!
Food will be cooked on board, so do let me know your dietery requirements when signing up. I promise to buy some lovely stuff!
To come on any CUYC trips you must be a member of the club, and you do this as you sign up - simples! Membership costs £15 and lasts for a year from the date of the trip. You will also be required to pay for your share of the trip expenses after the trip - £25. This includes food, diesel and mooring fees spent during the weekend. Pretty good deal when you think of the cost of a hotel and meals for two nights, and add to that two full days of sailing and it's a bargain!

See you on the boat!
