Exploring the Rías of Galicia
This is a relaxing one-week cruise departing from and returning to the port city of Vigo in northwestern Spain. You'll have the opportunity to go island-hopping, drop anchor in secluded coves, and soak up the Galician way of life on the water.
No major offshore passages are planned - just scenic coastal cruising and stopping wherever looks inviting along the Rías of Galicia. Enjoy tapas, wine, and sunset BBQs in historic harbors. This is a perfect trip for sailors of all experience levels looking for a casual Spanish summer cruise.
Hi all! Very excited to be skippering this summer and looking forward to meeting a new crew. I did the CUYC 2022 summer programme (Balearics), then was a first mate in 2023 (Norway) and passed my Yachtmaster this year. I'll be joined by first mate Tara Collins who I know from racing and the Balearics trip and has a good few summer programmes under her belt as well. I am a third year PhD in Engineering, whilst Tara is a recent graduate in Music.
I am expecting it to be a very relaxed week. The focus will be on taking it easy. Tara and I both love sailing fast and we'll absolutely be sailing when we can, but we'll probably stay locally and explore the islands in a leisurely way (I don't anticipate any passages at night through stormy seas, for example). It should be enjoyable even for someone who has never sailed before.
