Summer 25 - 11 Turku - Cruising in the Baltic

About the Trip

Hi all! Join us for a chilled one-week trip departing from and returning to Turku, Finland: the favorite sailing areas of many scandinavian sailors! We'll have the opportunity to go island-hopping, moor up in secluded coves, and enjoy a summer week in the archipelago - dotted by over 50'000 islands, there is always a beautiful one waiting for us!

No major offshore passages are planned - just scenic coastal cruising and stopping wherever looks inviting.

Very appropriate for complete beginners to sailing and those that enjoy a relaxing sailing week!

Your Skipper: Alessio Caciagli

Hi! I am Alessio and your skipper for the week! I grew up sailing on Lake Garda, Italy (which might explain my utter joy in Force 6 conditions...) and joined CUYC in 2020. I have sailed across Biscay (twice!) and the North Sea with the club, and have been crew and first mate for many trips!
As much as I love adventurous sailing, I love as much chillin' on a boat - swimming, catching some rays, excursions on land and a drink at the end of the day. Have fun (while being safe)!

This will be my first year skippering a week for the CUYC summer programme, and I'm looking forward to meeting you all! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to message me!

How much does it cost?

Apart from the trip cost you pay when you sign up, there will also be expenses for food, marinas and diesal during the week. These will be sorted out on the trip via the Splitwise app, and usually come around to £100. You must also pay for your own transport to and from the handover marina.

What to Bring

See the "What to Bring" tab for the full list, but bring warm clothing, seasickness remedies if needed, sleeping bag, personal items, passport, and a spirit of adventure!
