About The Trip Join us for a week's cruise around the Skärgård (pronounced 'shair-gord') - Stockholm's archipelago. Consisting of around 30,000 islands, the archipelago's complex coastlines offer an ideal cruising ground of sheltered waters and dramatic scenery. Closer to the mainland, the islands are populated with trees and small Gästhamnen (guest harbours where we can tie the yacht up for the night). Further afield, the outer islands offer a rocky and more rugged wilderness, waiting to be explored. We will do our best to get around as much of it as we can - by sail, paddle board and swimming... Across the week, we will do exactly that: take each day to explore somewhere new. We will spend anywhere from 2-5 hours underway each day, hopping from one overnight anchorage to the next, getting our adventure fill in and always making sure to allow plenty of time for good food and drinks in the afternoon and evening! I'm hoping we get a good balance of crew so can aim for a mixture of more technical sailing, sunset cocktails, sharing the different cuisines of whoever signs up and swimming every day. |

Meet Your Skipper: Callum Henderson I am an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor and professional skipper. Sailing has taken me to a variety of locations - from instructing in the Solent to skippering luxury charters in the Bahamas! I studied architecture at Trinity Hall and was Commodore of the Club during my undergrad. I'm excited to get involved with CUYC again and very much looking forward to doing some relaxed sailing in Skärgård! |
How much does it cost? Apart from the trip cost you pay when you sign up, there will also be expenses for food, marinas and diesel during the week - split between the group. These will be sorted out on the trip via the Splitwise app, and usually come around to £100. You must also pay for your own transport to and from the handover marina. |

What To Bring See the "What to Bring" tab for the full list, but bring warm clothing, seasickness remedies if needed, sleeping bag, personal items, passport, and a spirit of adventure! Please pack lightly as space is limited on board. Safety equipment (e.g. lifejackets) and wet weather gear is provided on board, however we will do our best to keep the oilskins stowed deep in the locker!
Pack lightly! Think camping but with sails. |
