Summer programme #9 - Outer hebrides

Adventure Factor: 2/5

A summer in Scotland!

Set sail on an epic summer cruising around Scotland exploring the Outer Hebrides!

About the Trip

Sail along the beautiful crystal clear waters of the Outer Hebrides!

No prior sailing experience is required! Just good vibes and great energy!

Itinerary

Depart: Ullapool, August 22nd

Arrive: Ullapool, August 29th

Your Skipper and First Mate: Dan & Julija

Dan is our CUYC Commodore and a recent skipper for the club. Sailing is a huge passion of his, and he loves being able to share that passion with others at CUYC. This will be his sixth Summer Programme with CUYC, but his first as the skipper!

Julija joined CUYC when she was doing her PhD studies in Cambridge and is an experienced club First Mate. She has been on the CUYC Committee and knows the ins and outs of Yacht Skylark very well!

How much does it cost?

Apart from the trip cost you pay when you sign up, there will also be expenses for food, marinas and diesal during the week. These will be sorted out on the trip via the Splitwise app, and usually come around to £100. You must also pay for your own transport to and from the handover marina.

Travel

The trip will start and end in Ullapool, Scotland, so you will have to make your way to and from at the start and end of the trip. Handover will be at lunchtime on the first and last saturday of the trip, so keep this in mind when planning transport. Sometimes people travel the night before and stay someplace local for the night.

Once the crew is confirmed we can make a group chat and co-ordinate trains and travel, or looking into carpooling, depending on people's preferences.

What to Bring

See the "What to Bring" tab for the full list, but bring warm clothing, seasickness remedies if needed, sleeping bag, personal items, some form of id, and a spirit of adventure!
