Adventure Factor: 4/5
Set sail on an epic summer adventure crossing the Irish Sea from Cornwall to Ireland!
Join Jake and Aidan on this epic passage across the Irish Sea from Falmouth in the Cornish coast to Bantry in Ireland. The trip will take you past adventurous locations such as the Lizard, Irish Sea and Fastnet Rock - whilst hopefully also enjoying more relaxing destinations such as the Scilly isles and anchorages in county Cork.
Prior sailing experience is recommended for this extended coastal passage, but adventurous newcomers are welcome. Be prepared for some long days sailing and some days visiting places along the way.
Depart: Falmouth, July 11th
Arrive: Bantry, July 18th

Hi! I am Jake, and I will be your skipper. I have skippered numerous adventurous passges with CUYC (including Copenhagen - UK 2025). I am originally from West Wales, and so love the Celtic and Irish Seas. For this trip - I am most excited to round the famous Fastnet rock
Hi! I am Aidan and I will be your first mate this week. I am an avid sailor having joined 3 different summer programme weeks last year. I love offshore sailing, caving and getting to sail with new people. See you on the water!
Apart from the trip cost you pay when you sign up, there will also be expenses for food, marinas and diesal during the week. These will be sorted out on the trip via the Splitwise app, and usually come around to £100. You must also pay for your own transport to and from the handover marina.
The trip will start from Falmouth so you can get the train there. The nearest major airport to Bantry is Cork, which has frequent (and cheap) flights to London Airports
See the "What to Bring" tab for the full list, but bring warm clothing, seasickness remedies if needed, sleeping bag, personal items, some form of id, and a spirit of adventure!
