Summer programme #10 - Ullapool to Thurso

Adventure Factor: 5/5

A summer in Scotland!

Set sail on an epic summer cruising around Scotland exploring the Orkney and Shetland Islands!

About the Trip

The journey involves a 300 NM passage through the Orkney and Shetland Islands from Ullapool to Thurso!

Prior sailing experience is recommended for this extended coastal passage, but adventurous newcomers are welcome. Be prepared for some long days sailing and some days visiting places along the way.

Itinerary

Depart: Ullapool, August 29th

Arrive: Thurso, September 5th

Your Skipper: Sebastian Boehm

Sebastian has been in the club for over ten years. He is an experienced skipper that has sailed all around the world. Sailing is a huge passion of his, and he loves being able to share that passion with others at CUYC.

How much does it cost?

Apart from the trip cost you pay when you sign up, there will also be expenses for food, marinas and diesal during the week. These will be sorted out on the trip via the Splitwise app, and usually come around to £100. You must also pay for your own transport to and from the handover marina.

Travel

The trip will start from Ullapool so you can get the train there and then the train back from Thurso.

What to Bring

See the "What to Bring" tab for the full list, but bring warm clothing, seasickness remedies if needed, sleeping bag, personal items, some form of id, and a spirit of adventure!
