So time for another fun sailing trip!
I thought with all the Royal Family hype - babies and marraige etc. it would be nice to head out into the water and survey the land of the queen in the month of her birthday. (yes, I know its not her real Birthday but whatever).
Also a good chance to go explore some of the rivers on the east coast that I don't know that well - the River Deben and the River Ore.
A rough plan would be to head out to Felixtowe and see what the conditions allow. I would like to maybe go to the River Ore and perhaps spend the night there, or if the tides are better for the River deben, then so be it! Both look lovely and have lot sof stuff to see and do, for example a lighthouse, some World War Two derelict buildings and shit tons of birds. We need the tide to get into these places, but I'm sure we'll manage.
This would be very good chance to get some sailing experience, practice for those exciting summer trips, put some theory into action or if you are a beginner - to just give it a shot full stop! I'm sure it will be fun, whatever the case.
To come on any CUYC trips you must be a member of the club, and you do this as you sign up - simples!. Membership costs £15 and lasts for a year. You will also be required to pay for your share of the trip expenses after the trip - £25. This includes food, diesel and mooring fees spent during the weekend. Pretty good deal when you think of the cost of a hotel and meals for two nights, and add to that two full days of sailing and it's a bargain!
