What to bring

Summertime in Galicia

We'll be in Spain in the summer, so (fingers crossed) the weather will be nice and warm. It is the northwest tip of Spain, though, so it is a little cooler and much more exposed than the Mediterranean part of Spain. Your skipper will keep an eye out on the weather in the week before the trip, but it's likely you'll need both a bathing suit for cooling down in the day and a jumper for those chilly nights. Also, as the man said, Know Thyself: If you're not used to the harsh sun, bring a big ol' hat and some extra-strength sunscreen and all that.

Packing your bag

Think camping: You want a soft duffle bag or backpack, not a big travel suitcase. It's a week-long trip, so you'll have to be clever about what you bring. Here are some recommendations:

  • Passport
  • A sleeping bag
  • Inflatable pillow
  • A headtorch, ideally with a red light mode
  • Cable to charge your phone
  • Toiletries, like some soap and shampoo, and a towel
  • Medicine, contact lenses, etc
  • Seasickness tables (Kwells, Stugeron)
  • Warm clothes
  • Jumper or fleece or anything warm
  • Summer clothes
  • Swimming suit
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Snorkel and mask
  • Hat
  • Book
  • Earplugs
  • Eye mask

There will be Club waterproofs onboard and lifevests for everyone on the trip, so no need to worry about those!
