Explore the Coves of the West Country
On this trip, we will be starting in and returning to the famous naval port of Plymouth in Cornwall.
From there, the world is our oyster (our, at least, our pasty)!
We may venture round to the north coast of the Cornish Peninsula, or even out the Scily Isles - it all depends on what the crew wants and the weather allows!
Sign up for beautiful coastlines and (hopefully) glorious south coast sailing!
We will pick up the club yacht, Skylark, in Plymouth.
Then we have the option of sailing east towards the Jurassic coast and visiting place such as Tor Bay, with Torquay and Brixham.
Sailing west we could visit Falmouth or the hundreds of bays and coves that cover the Cornish coast.
If the weather allows and the crew fancy, a trip down the Scilly isles is on the cards!
Going further west, we could also explore the northern coast of Cornwall, which has a different character to the South
As with most CUYC trips, this trip will be a mix of sailing and time on land if the crew wants, with time in ports and at anchor.
As a crew member, you'll sleep on board the yacht in your sleeping bag and contribute to helping sailing the boat, as well as with the shopping, cooking, and cleaning. The first mate and skipper will be on hand to teach those new to sailing the basics.
On top of the base cost of the trip, you will need to cover expenses such as food and marina fees (around £50 to £80) and pay for your own travel to and from Plymouth.
Once the crew has been confirmed, the skipper may arrange for the crew to meet in Cambridge to get to know each other.
|The skipper on this trip is Dmitry Dubovitsky - a friendly and experienced skipper!|
