When you sign up for a trip you will have the option of ordering a summer programme fleece, these will be extremely useful when sailing in Norway, we worked with Cotswolds to get a heavy discount on a really high quality fleece. They are embroidered with the CUYC flag and “Summer 2017” so they will serve as a great reminder of the trip. For more information and photos please see the front page cuyc.org.uk/summer. The fleeces will be delivered to a central location in Cambridge for free, if you require a different delivery please select this option on the sign up page.
The weather should be warm(ish) in Norway this summer but have a look at the general weather forecast for the week and think about how many layers you will need. It can be cooler out on the water than onshore due to the breezes and remember it gets colder at night!
Ideally your things should be packed into a collapsable holdall or rucksack. Please do not bring a large suitcase as they can be hard to stow on board. If you have any questions about the type or size of your bag then feel free to email Angus McKnight (profile).
Here is a list of some things we recommended you bring on the trip:
When necessary you can hire Club waterproofs which are all Musto MPX and include a jacket and salopettes (trousers).
Do not forget to bring your Passport and to check that it is in date! If you require a holiday VISA to travel to Europe then please let us know when you sign up and contact Angus McKnight (profile).
