This trip should suit those new to sailing really well, the coast is sheltered thanks to the long, deep fjords and we haven't got to sail too far so we can spend plenty of time exploring.
We'll start the week in the bigger town of Bergen where we'll take some time to provision the boat and get ourselves set up for the week. Then we'll set sail heading south towards Stavanger, we have the option of either sailing round the coast or working our way through the Fjords. Weather permitting we might get into Hardangerfjorden, the longest Fjord in Norway! although at several hundred mile long I don't think we'll get all the way up it.
Further south towards Stavanger the geography changes and we'll find that the huge Fjords give way to more open coast scattered with uninhabited islands, providing some fantastic oppurtunities for tying the boat up and exploring. These include Hellesoy and Kalvoy outside Stavanager.
The exact plan for the week depends on what the crew want to do, the level of experience (and ambition) and the weather conditions - but whatever the case this is going to be a brilliant week to end the clubs adventures in Norway!
Skipper Angus Mcknight studied Medicine at Sidney Sussex college and is a club instructor, so you'll be in expert hands
We have ensured that there are either direct flights or flights via Oslo from London airports on the start and end date of the trip - however, please do NOT book any flights until your place has been confirmed and the skipper has been in touch with you. You will probably travel together as a crew.
