This trip will give its crew the opportunity to do two exciting and adventurous passages and some relaxed cruising in three different countries!

Starting in the city of Cork, we will not tarry too long before setting out on the exciting (~150 miles) passage to the Isles of Scilly, which the almanac describes thus:

"The Isles of Scilly, with some 150 islands, islets and named rocks, are a place apart, another world where rugged independence and friendliness characterise the islanders, who are blessed by so much natural beauty both on land and in the numerous Sounds. To arrive in your own yacht is an experience in itself. Your subsequent odyssey around the islands will strengthen this belief and probably enhance your seamanship."

As soon as we feel capable of tearing ourselves away from this beautiful archipelago we'll make another passage, of similar length to the first, to the rugged coast of Brittany where we must eventually bid a farewell to Kestrel (handing over to the next crew, not sinking her).

Although this trip will involve relaxed cruising, with G&Ts and barbeques at the end of the day de rigeur, it also involves two passages which will be rather adventurous in nature. So, while we can accomodate some crew who are new to sailing this trip is more suited to those with some experience. If you have any doubts, worries or questions then don't hesitate to email the trip organiser, Alex Cowan (profile), who will be happy to help.
