Trip Sign-up Preference Policy

Where the number of Members who sign up for an Event exceeds the number of places available for this Event the following order of preferences shall be respected: (1) Junior Members, (2) Senior Members, (3) Affiliate Members.

There shall be one deadline before which Junior Members have priority on signing up, after which Senior and Affiliate Members will be considered. For weekend trips the deadline shall be no less than two weeks before the trip. For longer trips the deadline shall be set by the Trip Organiser in consultation with the Vice-Commodore Sailing and shall be no less than three weeks. For Training Courses the deadline shall be set by the Training Officers in consultation with the Vice-Commodore Sailing. Trip Organisers should endeavour to find out from Senior and Affiliate Members when they need to know if there is space available for an event.

CUYC reserves the right to sign up a Senior of Affiliate Member to an Event before the agreed deadline at the discretion of the CUYC Committee (e.g., where the Senior or Affiliate Member has a particular attribute that would be useful or is required on the trip or course). Such cases will be agreed between the Trip Organiser, the Vice-Commodore Sailing, and the Commodore.
